This Lifelong Learning program: The Art of Conducting: Leonard Bernstein and Streaming of the Movie, Maestro”  March 3, 2024,  from 12 to 4 pm at our temple. It is free; we only ask you to please bring a dessert we can all share.

It will be an incredible afternoon. From 12 PM-1 PM, enjoy your brown bag lunch in the communal setting of our Temple.  From 1 PM -2 PM, we have the good fortune to present a fantastic lecture from Dr. Ivan Shulman via Zoom.  Dr. Ivan Shulman is an award-winning conductor, teacher, clinician, and virtuoso performer and the music director of Orchestra Nova LA. He is a frequent program annotator and speaker at numerous concerts in Los Angeles and often serves as an adjudicator for student scholarship and musical competitions in the U.S. and abroad. His talk will cover some musical aspects of the film Maestro, looking at the production from a conductor’s standpoint as well as that of a music historian.

ONLY THE LECTURE PORTION WILL BE AVAILABLE VIA ZOOM, NOT THE MOVIE.

The movie Maestro will start at 2 PM.
