Inspired by her grandmother's life, Little Bird is the story of a sixteen year old girl who is betrothed to a wealthy cousin in NYC in 1910 to help her family escape the pogroms. After enduring a perilous journey and a cruel marriage, she savors the independence she gains at a job she loves, but meeting a man who both loves and respects her forces her to consider the future she really wants. This presentation will include brief readings and a discussion of the author's writing process, historical research and publishing decisions.  Registration form and lunch details to follow!
